In June 2025, after much campaigning, Deafblindness was recognised as a distinct disability in Scotland. Now the Scottish Government policy guidance is being created, and we need your help. We will be gathering lived experiences from deafblind people, people at risk of deafblindness and their families across Scotland.

Hearing your experiences will:

  1. Inform Scottish Government policy guidance

  2. Improve early identification

  3. Strengthen lifelong support pathways from birth to older age

Our team will be traveling around Scotland to meet with deafblind people and their families and supporters.

Upcoming dates:

8th June, 2pm - 4pm - Largs Sensory Impairment Group in Largs Library

25th June, 10am-12pm - Edinburgh, Deaf Action, 49 Albany Street, EH1 3QY from

27th July, 11am-3pm Scottish Advisory Group on Deafblindness, Deafblind Scotland 1 Neasham Drive, Lenzie, G66 3FA, including lunch.

More dates to follow!

“The Scottish Government recognises the distinct challenges faced by the deafblind community and we want to ensure that those living with deafblindness in Scotland are able to access the best possible care and support.”

Your experiences can make a big difference to your future and others!
